About the University of Kent, Canterbury, and Vicinity

BRISMES and the University of Kent’s School of Politics and International Relations look forward to welcoming you to the 2020 Annual BRISMES Conference.

The University of Kent is one of the UK’s leading universities and has a global reputation for excellence. Known as the UK’s European university, Kent also has specialist centres in Paris, Brussels, Athens, and Rome. The University is located just one-hour from the centre of London on the high-speed train.

The University campus itself is situated two miles outside of the charming cathedral city of Canterbury, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Just five miles from Canterbury is the seaside town of Whitstable which is famous for its oysters and every summer holds the Whitstable Oyster Festival.

If you have a day either side of the conference, why not visit the historic cathedral and/or take a trip to the seaside:
