This year’s BRISMES conference is taking place from 25th – 28th June in King’s College London (Franklin-Wilkins Building). We received an unprecedented volume of submissions this year, and we are hoping that this will be our largest conference to date – this means we will certainly be appreciative of the help of student volunteers in making it a success.
We are looking to build a team of student volunteer Conference Assistants who can help with the logistics of the conference: supporting the smooth running of panels, assisting with registration, helping to manage the keynote and evening events, and other related responsibilities.
Volunteer Conference Assistants will be required to commit to some two- or four-hour shifts over the course of the conference. To thank you for your support, student volunteers will be welcome to attend the conference and explore our publisher’s exhibition whenever you are not volunteering. For undergraduate and masters students, this will give you an opportunity to hear some top-level research papers and panel discussions covering a very broad and interdisciplinary range of subjects, in a large-scale, international conference setting. Event organisation skills are also essential both to an academic career and to countless others, and as such we hope this will be beneficial work experience for your CV.
If you are interested in this role, please e-mail us with the following information:
– Your name
– Your programme and year of study (and the university you’re studying at, if not KCL)
– Your specific availability over the course of the conference (25th – 28th June inclusive)
– Any prior experience you have with or related to events organisation
if you have any queries about this, please contact the Conference Coordinator Sinéad at firstname.lastname@example.org.
