BRISMES AND COVID-19 UPDATE
With just over 3 months until the BRISMES annual conference at the University of Kent, conference organisers are closely monitoring the fast evolving situation with regards to the spread of COVID-19 and restrictions on travel in a number of countries. The health and safety of our members and delegates and the wider public are our priority. We are currently discussing how to proceed and will issue a statement by 27 March 2020.
Registration for the 2020 Annual BRISMES Conference is now open! Please register by purchasing your conference ticket here
Please note that the early bird deadline for presenters at this year’s conference is 6 March 23.59 GMT (extended from 28 February in solidarity with the UCU strike in the UK), and all presenters must register by 31 March (23.59 GMT).
Conference delegates (presenters, panel chairs, discussants) must register in advance of the conference, according to the details below.
Non-speaking delegates are very welcome to attend also and can register online until 5 June 2020 (17:00 GMT). We will be able to facilitate a limited number of non-speaking delegate registrations on the door.
If you have not paid the fee by 31 March, and have not been in touch, you will be automatically removed from the programme. If you have any problems with paying the fee by the deadline, please get in touch with Kirsty (firstname.lastname@example.org) to organise an extension.
We are pleased to inform you that we have been able to freeze conference fees at the 2019 rates.
The conference fee includes a drinks reception on Monday 29 June, morning and afternoon refreshments, and lunch for delegates on Tuesday 30 June and Wednesday 1 July.
However, we will be asking all those who can, to donate to our newly-established Solidarity Fund to support those delegates who do not have access to institutional funds for conference attendance.
Please note that the conference opens early afternoon of Monday 29 June.
Student delegates who are BRISMES members automatically have entry to the student section event on the morning of Monday 29 June. Further details to follow in late March/early April.
You are encouraged to join BRISMES to take advantage of member registration rates (as well as the other benefits of membership). You can do so here – or email Amy Brickhill, email@example.com for more information. Please do not attempt to buy a member ticket or a student member ticket without being a paid-up member of BRISMES.
We will publish the conference schedule on our website once the delegate registration deadline has closed at end of March. If you are presenting one paper you may book the Day Rate. Once we publish the conference schedule in April the team at Kent will contact you to ask you which day you will be attending. If you are presenting multiple papers you must book for the whole conference.
We regret that we are unable to give refunds (unless you have been refused a visa)
