Publications

The Society produces two publications which members receive as part of their membership:

The British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies

This Journal is published three times a year and is currently under the editorship of Professor Ian Netton of the University of Exeter. Associate Editors are Professor David Seddon (University of East Anglia), Dr David Shankland, University of Bristol, Dr Lloyd Ridgeon, University of Glasgow and Dr Ersun Kurtulis, University of Kent.  The book review Editor is Dr Hendrik Kraetzschmar at the University of Leeds.

The Journal contains academic research articles, book reviews and a bibliographical section. All BRISMES members are invited to contribute to the Journal.

The Journal is being administered for the Society by Taylor and Francis. Members of all categories of membership receive all issues of the Journal (assuming their subscriptions have been paid in full). For your membership subscription to the Society, you receive the Journal, and also our Newsletter which is published three times a year. Alternatively, subscription to the Journal only is available via Taylor and Francis.

BRISMES Newsletter

The Newsletter is published three times a year and aims to keep the members informed of developments in Middle Eastern Studies. Members are encouraged to submit information and material for the Newsletter relating to on-going research, conferences, new books, PhD theses completed, syllabus developments, etc.
The newsletter has a section listing current council members and has a regular letter from the Executive Director. It also has sections on News, University News, Centres and Organisations, Scholarships and Awards, Recent Conferences, together with an extensive list of forthcoming conferences, and of recently published books dealing with all aspects of Middle Eastern studies.
