Professor Beverley Milton-Edwards

Beverley's research is mainly either about Political Islam or the Politics of the Middle East. She writes about Islamist groups such as Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hizballah and the Muslim Brotherhood. She also researches areas of Terrorism and Security including Security Sector Reform comparative and regional. With the Arab world currently gripped by momentous political change, her scholarship has reflected motivating factors such as: Democracy and its absence, authoritarianism, political-economy, Islamism, gender, and regional and international relations.

In 2013 Beverley was awarded a Queen's Teaching Award Student nominated category. In 2004 whe was awarded an 'Oscar of Higher Education' – a National Teaching Fellowship. She was awarded THES/LTSN E-tutor of the year 2002.
