American Institute for Yemeni Studies

AIYS is a non-profit consortium of scholarly institutions (universities, museums, and research centers) founded in 1977. AIYS facilities in Sana'a include the AIYS office, library, and reading, meeting, and working rooms, as well as the AIYS hostel.

The American Research Center in Egypt

Founded in 1948, the American Research Center in Egypt (ARCE) is a private, nonprofit organization composed of educational and cultural institutions, professional scholars, and private individuals. ARCE's mission is to support research on all aspects of Egyptian history and culture, foster a broader knowledge about Egypt among the general public, and strengthen American-Egyptian cultural ties.

American Research Institute in Turkey

The American Research Institute in Turkey (ARIT) is a non-profit educational institution dedicated to promoting North American and Turkish research and exchanges related to Turkey in all fields of the humanities and social sciences. ARIT provides support for these aims by maintaining research centers in Istanbul and Ankara, and by administering programs of fellowships to support research in Turkey at doctoral and advanced research levels.

Center for Islamic Studies (ISAM)

Based in Istanbul, The Center for Islamic Studies (ISAM) supports national and international scholarly projects investigating Turkish/Islamic history, culture and civilsation.

Council for British Research in the Levant

The CBRL is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that conducts, supports and promotes research in the history, culture, society and archaeology of the Levant. The CBRL has an administrative office in London and two research institutes in the region: the CBRL Kenyon Institute (KI) in East Jerusalem and the CBRL British Institute in Amman (BIA).

Institut de Recherche sur le Maghreb Contemporain

The contemporary Maghreb Research Institute (IRMC) is one of 27 French research institutes abroad (IFRE), dependent on the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and a joint research unit (USR 3077) of Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS). It is located in the district of Tunis Mutuelleville. Founded in 1992, the Institute aims to contribute to the renewal of French social science research in the Maghreb in collaboration with academics and researchers Maghreb.

Institute for Advanced Study, School of Historical Studies

The Institute for Advanced Study is a private, independent academic institution is located in Princeton, New Jersey. It exists to encourage and support curiosity-driven research in the sciences and humanities—the original, often speculative thinking that produces advances in knowledge that change the way we understand the world. It provides for the mentoring of scholars by Faculty, and it ensures the freedom to undertake research that will make significant contributions in any of the broad range of fields in the sciences and humanities studied at the Institute.

The Institute of Ismaili Studies

The Institute of Ismaili Studies was established in 1977 to promote scholarship of Muslim cultures and societies, historical as well as contemporary, leading to a better understanding of their relationship with other societies and faiths.

The Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations

The Aga Khan University Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations (AKU-ISMC) aims to strengthen research and teaching about the heritage of Muslim societies, giving specific attention to the challenges these societies face in contemporary settings.

Institute for Palestine Studies

The Institute for Palestine Studies (IPS), is the oldest institute in the world devoted exclusively to documentation, research, analysis, and publication on Palestinian affairs and the Arab-Israeli conflict. It was established in Beirut in 1963 and incorporated there as a private, independent, non-profit Arab institute unaffiliated with any political organisation or government.

Institute of Turkish Studies (at Georgetown)

Founded and incorporated in the District of Columbia in 1982, the Institute of Turkish Studies (ITS) is the only non-profit, private educational foundation in the United States exclusively dedicated to the support and development of Turkish Studies in American higher education.

International Institute of Islamic Thought

The International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) is a private, non-profit, academic, cultural and educational institution, concerned with general issues of Islamic thought and education. The Institute was established in the United States of America in 1981. The headquarters of the Institute are situated in Herndon, Virginia, in the suburbs of Washington DC.

International Institute for Strategic Studies

The IISS was founded in the UK in 1958 with a focus on nuclear deterrence and arms control. Today, it is also known for its annual Military Balance assessment of countries' armed forces and for its high-powered security summits, including the Shangri-La Dialogue.

Israel Palestine Center for Research and Information

The Israel Palestine Center for Research and Information is a joint institution of Israelis and Palestinians dedicated to the resolution of the Israeli – Palestinian conflict on the basis of “two states for two peoples”. IPCRI recognizes the rights of the Jewish people and the Palestinian people to fulfill their national interests within the framework of achieving national self-determination within their own states and by establishing peaceful relations between two democratic states living side-by-side.

The Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education

The Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education, formerly known as Al-Maktoum Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies, was established in 2001. Its aim is to bridge the possible gap between the Muslim and western worlds by focusing on intelligent debate and scientific understanding of Islam and the role of Muslims in the contemporary world.

Royal Institute of International Affairs
