Biography
After completing my MA I worked as a researcher for the Lebanese Center for Policy Studies in Beirut and am currently a PhD candidate in religious studies at Utrecht University.
Research description
During the interwar period Muslim intellectual and religious centres expanded and were institutionalized throughout Europe, especially in Berlin, Paris and southern England. My research investigates whether Muslims were initiating a process to indigenize Islam, or rather different ‘Islams’, in interwar Western Europe, thereby situating Islam in the religious history of Europe.
