Research description
Anthropology of the Middle East; refugees; anthropology of humanitarianism My PhD research investigates the relationship between ‘waiting’ and displacement among Syrian refugees in Mafraq, Jordan. I am particularly interested in how spatial and social (im)mobilities are intertwined, as well as in the waiting experiences produced in refugees' interactions with the humanitarian regime.
