Biography
I am primarily an ancient historian and archaeologist who for the past seven years has held various academic positions in the Department of Classics and Ancient History at Durham University.
Research description
The majority of my research, however, focuses on the Phoenicians and their colonisation of the Mediterranean. I have therefore explored the economic history of the ancient Near East looking at the political power that states such as Tyre, Sidon, Byblos, and Arwad gained from their commercial networks.
