Biography
Roie Yellinek is a doctoral student in the Department for Middle Eastern Studies, in conjunction with the Department for East Asian Studies, at Bar Ilan University. His doctoral dissertation focuses on the response of Middle Eastern countries to greater Chinese involvement in the region between the years of 1992 and 2015. Roie works at the Center for Near East Policy Research (CFNEPR), and has previously worked at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), and the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies (BESA Center). He has also authored journalistic article and lectures. Some of the central topics of Roie`s expertise are the geo-political and strategic challenges in the Middle East, the impact of intellectuals on political discourse in the Middle East and the Far East, and international maritime disputes. Roie lives in Jerusalem, Israel.
