She is a scholar of Political Islam and an Associate Fellow at the Richardson Institute (Lancaster, UK).
Research description
MY Post Doctoral research project focuses on the politics of contested spaces in the Middle East, and particularly on contemporary challenges to sovereignty and the nation-state. I pay special attention to state fragmentation after the Arab Uprisings, and I have an ongoing project investigating future trajectories of Political Islam in Egypt after the 2013 coup d'etat.
