Water Governance: Concepts, Policy and Practice

AKU Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations
Building on the experience of AKU's British Academy water research project, this two-day online course will introduce participants to major themes and policy frameworks in water governance with a focus on experiences of community-based water management in the Global South. The course aims to equip participants with perspectives to inform practical engagements in the water sector. A blend of presentation, discussion and short tasks spread over four sessions will introduce key academic and policy ideas.
Call for Papers: ASTENE Summer Online Conference

Association for the Study of Travel in Egypt and the Near East (ASTENE)
Following the postponement of the 14th biennial ASTENE Conference to July 2022 and in light of the ongoing pandemic, we invite proposals for contributions to a smaller virtual conference which will take place 24-25 July 2021. Proposals may be submitted either for individual presentations of 20 minutes or for panels of 3-4 speakers of 20 minutes each. Please include a biography of no more than 200 words, presentation title and a 300-word abstract. Proposals should be submitted to conference.astene@gmail.com by 30 April 2021.
