This is an event to launch Sara Salem's latest book Anticolonial Afterlives in Egypt: The Politics of Hegemony. The book explores Egypt's first postcolonial project through an imagined conversation between Antonio Gramsci and Frantz Fanon, two foundational theorists of anti-capitalism and anti-colonialism, thinking through questions of decolonisation, capitalism, resistance, and mastery.
