About the Lecture

In recent decades, a new area of inquiry has emerged: Palestine Studies. It has attracted scholars and students who are concerned about Palestine and its people and yet committed to professional acumen and solid scholarship. Given the pivotal role Palestine has occupied in the public awareness over the last two years, Palestine Studies has offered discussions that transcend concern for Israel and Palestine and cover global issues such as international justice, global warming, immigration and poverty. The lecture will follow the origins of this field, discuss its current status and offer some thoughts about its future.
